They can't continue to make these everyyear with out adding a new historical girl. How many more years do you think they will continue to be made. For the friend dolls, there will be Emily and then my next guess is Ruthie. None of the other girls have as prominent of friends as they do. Even if they do add one or two more, I don't think they can really add another friends doll. As for the LE's how many more years do you think they will go for. Any predictions. (Don't say awhile, that is my answer )

I really, really hope that AG continues to do the friend doll thing. But, in reality, I doubt that they will. If they stop doing the friend doll and movie thing, then I hope that they will at least continue to highlight one historical collection each year until all the girls have had their turn in the spotlight. Even without the movie/friend hoopla, AG could certainly release a selection of cool new items based on a girl's books.

As for the LE's, I don't think we'll be seeing an end any time soon. They appear to be hugely popular for AG. There will probably be one a year for quite a while now.

These are just my own personal musings. What AG actually will or will not do, we'll just have to wait and see!!!

I have to disagree that
None of the other girls have as prominent of friends as they do.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">First, I don't think Emily is a prominent friend. She is just an interesting character to make into a doll. She is only mentioned in one book, Molly's friends Linda and Susan are more prominent.

Second, all the girls except Josefina have a prominent friend (Josefina has her sister)

Kirsten has Singing Bird, who appears in more than one book, or they could make her cousin, Kaya has Speaking Rain, who is not actually her sister, but lives with her, and Addy has Sarah.

I'd like to see a new historical sometime soon, but mostly because I have been very disappointed with the friends so far, if they could do them better, then I love the friends concept.

Yes, I don't see LEs going away too soon. As far as friends dolls, I hope they give each girl a time in the spotlight. I personally think that it would be awesome if they came out with a friend that wasn't exactly the same age as the AG girl like have Anna as Kirsten's best friend and make her a little smaller. Or one of Josephina's big sisters. But then that means they need a new size of clothes, which makes it sticky.

Also, doesn't Kaya have a sister (the blind one) that they could make as the best friend? I'm not sure how well she'd sell, but it would work! Also, Addy's best friend (I forget her name) would work!

I think the LE's are going to be around for longer than the Friend dolls. I also agree that Emily isn't a very prominent friend in Molly's books(she is only mentioned in Happy Birthday, Molly!)

What I meant when I said,

"Not all girl's have as prominent is a friend"

Is not that they don't have friends, and not that they all don't deserve a time in the spotlight, but that if they made another friends for Kaya, they would look very similar. Same goes for Joesefina and Kirsten. They would be very similar to the original dolls and would be harder to change, or so I think. I do like how the highlight each girl but that would then mean this trend will be going on for many years to come. I don't think it will be as popular say, 5 years from now, but unlike the few of us, people go in and out of the AG stage within a matter of a few years. We'll have to see I guess.

I LOVE the idea of having slightly different ages in the colelction but then as you mentioned there will be the problem of clothes. It would still be very cool tho. It would be similar if they came out with clothes and excessories (sp?) for Polly. That would be neat too.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">It could be worked around. Like for Speaking Rain, give her lighter skin about Marisol's color, a different hairstyle, and light eyes. VERY different. She's blind, so light eyes are not impossible. (gray/silver like mollys or even milky white) Cataracts causing blindness cause a white/silver film over the eyes. It would also be a good opportunity to have a doll with a disability.

Singing Bird is a little more difficult because she has no really unique features mentioned. But when they write her book it would be pretty simple to add in little things that make her unique. Give her sun streaked black and brown hair maybe. She would have spent lots of time outdoors so it's quite plausible. 1854 is late enough there are sadly a number of circumstances that would result in her having typical European clothing in addition to her traditional Native American clothing.

As for Josefina's friend, Mexicans come in lots of colors. Everything from a look similar to Addy to Blond/hazel eyed girls with almost 100% European ancestry. Since Marisol is retired, a look similar to her but with another face mold and hazel eyes would probably work.

Addy's friend Sarah would work really well if she looked like AGT26 with the curls and medium skin, but had shorter black hair. She worked, so like Nellie would have had short hair.

Yeah I know, I've thought about this too much.

If AG continues with the "Friends" this will come out probably-

Molly- Emily

Kirsten- Singing Bird or Anna

Kit- Ruthie

Addy- Sarah

Josefina- Mariana (she is only in one book too)

Kaya - Speaking Rain (who will be the first AG with a disability.)

I'd really like to see a friend doll for each of the original girls. If they're only done for a few, it will seem as though some of the girls aren't as important as the others. Also, bringing out a friend is a great time to spotlight each period.

OTOH, I really, really want AG to do an entirely new historical period. My preference is for the 1950s, which I think would be tremendous fun. I'm afraid that as long as the friends are coming out, there isn't much incentive to do a new period.

LE girls are likely here to stay. They do seem very popular and the format lets AG look in all sorts of directions for inspiration.

Personally I'm really hoping that they get to Sarah. I loved the character throughout Addy's books.
